If you're like me, Zihuatanejo (pronounced zee-watt-a-NEH-ho) brings to mind a sleepy little fishing village with quaint shops, lovely beaches, and a relaxed, let-your-hair-down atmosphere. On the other hand, the neighboring beach resort of Ixtapa (pronounced eeks-TAH-pa), planned by Mexico's official tourism agency, FONATUR, is a full-throttle, action-packed beach destination.
