. . . Techies, take note. One of the newest hotels to open in downtown Seattle is Hotel 1000, an ultra-modern and chic haven for technophiles (and others, like myself) needing a luxe weekend getaway. This is an independent boutique hotel with 120 large rooms and suites. Accommodations are cutting-edge; I was duly impressed by the sensors in each guest room that detect body heat-so housekeeping won't bother you-as well as the touch-pad control panel that adjusts lights, temperature, and who knows what else. All guest rooms unlock with touch key cards, and its high-speed wireless Internet access is off the charts. More to my liking was the magnificent bathroom with a two-person pedestal tub that fills from the ceiling. I could easily have spent days just hanging out and indulging in a few treatments at SPAAHH, the hotel's full-service salon and spa; taking a shot at its completely virtual golf club, with more than 50 top courses to choose from; or dining at BOKA Kitchen + Bar, a vibrant hot spot serving lunch, dinner, and outdoor dining. Rates start at $250. -Darcy Allen, Hideaways Manager of Travel Services
