Traveler's Journal: The Virgin Islands |
Five Days, Five Islands |

Yes, it's true. I experienced five beautiful Virgin Islands in just five days--and loved every minute of it! However, I would never suggest that my Hideaways clients do the same when vacationing in this area. I left way too many fabulous-sounding restaurants untried, more than one gorgeous beach unexplored, and too many sights unseen that I really had wanted to experience. To say I can't wait to return and explore at a more leisurely pace would be an understatement.
One of the biggest draws for Americans visiting the U.S. Virgin Islands right now is that you don't need a passport. Apparently, a lot of U.S. citizens are bypassing other islands in the Caribbean for the no-hassle ease of a customs-free entry into the USVI. And, of course, English is widely spoken in this U.S. territory. That might be another reason multi-generational tourism is so huge on St. Thomas, St. John, and St. Croix; I saw families with kids everywhere!
