Passengers cruising aboard the twin reproduction clipper ships Star
Flyer and Star Clipper enjoy the best of two
worlds—the romance of the age of sail and the comforts, amenities, and
technology of a 20th-century yacht.
These ships occupy a unique niche in the cruise world. Guests are treated to
a genuine sailing experience on ships specifically designed for warm water
vacationing. Because of the ship's small size, its casual on-board ambiance,
and the invitation to pitch in steering and hoisting sails, a special
camaraderie invariably develops as guests mingle on the spacious teak decks.
Star Flyer and Star Clipper were launched in the early 1990s
by internationally recognized yachts-man Mikael Krafft, a Norwegian-born
businessman with a passion for sailing.
He brought the beauty and grace of the historic "greyhounds of the
sea" to the modern cruise experience.
