If you're planning a vacation in Ireland, spend at least a couple of days, preferably in the beginning, in Dublin. Hideaways Founder Mike Thiel recommends some must-do sightseeing and accommodations in this intimate city with a lot to share. Dublin's gracious architecture and historic buildings are great to explore on foot. Start your vacation by taking in the rich cultural life of the Temple Bar area. Learn which local theater is a must see (and at a cheap price) for any traveler in the city. For a look into Ireland's complex history, make a stop at the National Museum and at this college's extensive library. Take your pick from a variety of city center accommodations based on location or decor. Stay at this large hotel with superior service and a bar in the cellar (appropriately named Cellar Bar.) If you prefer luxury travel, stay at this hotel with turn of the century furnishings and cozy fireplaces.
