Lake Louise and Banff offer a wide range of accommodations, from the historic but huge Chateau Lake Louise and Banff Springs Hotel to touristy and rustic motels. You won't find many homes or condos to rent; both towns are within a national park which imposes strict building and transient habitation limits. It is possible, however, to find a rental in the town of Canmore, just on the outskirts of Banff National Park.
