Boston: American as Apple Pie |

In this election year, it seems fitting that we tout one of the cities that played an instrumental part in securing our freedoms. It also happens that Beantown is in Hideaways' own back yard—we're headquartered just north, in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, making it mighty convenient for us to swing down for a quick visit. In fact, Boston is pretty easy to get to from just about anywhere on the Eastern Seaboard, for a long weekend getaway or an extended urban stay.
You'll find plenty to do here year-round, but we think fall, with its crisp sunny weather and vibrant foliage, is pretty much the pièce de résistance. Autumn is an ideal time to walk in the footsteps of our forefathers along some of Boston's most historic streets. The Freedom Trail is a two-and-a-half-mile, brick-lined walking route that leads you to 16 historically significant sites—like the Paul Revere House, Old North Church, and Faneuil Hall—each one a treasure in the story of the American Revolution.
