Alaska's Iditarod:
Maybe you've been to Alaska and done the typical cruise. But have you ever considered visiting Alaska in winter for the start of the famous 1,131-mile
Iditarod? An eight-day tour in late February 2014 gets you up-close-and-personal with four-time Iditarod Champion Martin Buser and his sled dogs, and also
lets you enjoy the festivities at the Musher's Banquet and the ceremonial start of the race in Anchorage. Along the way, you'll have time for skiing,
snowshoeing, and wildlife viewing at both the Alaska Sealife Center in coastal Seward and the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center in Girdwood. You can even
opt for a Northern Lights add-on. Tours start at $2,400.
