The Boat: The M.V. Ballymena carries a maximum of 20
passengers in 10 air-conditioned cabins of three types. Two VIP suites on the
boat deck offer double beds; two executive corner cabins towards the bow of the
main deck offer twin beds and wrap-around picture windows; three superior
cabins, also on the main deck, are similar in size but with twin beds and a
picture window; three deluxe, lower deck cabins offer good-sized bunks and
portholes. All cabins are quite spacious, well designed, and have ample storage
space. VIP and executive cabins include TVs with VCRs. Baths are modern and
equipped with hair dryers and terry robes. They are roomy enough for one person
but a bit cramped for two. Decor in all rooms and throughout the boat is
nautical and casually elegant, with pastel-toned fabrics and pickled woods.
The main salon is very spacious and provides a large L-shaped sitting area
facing an entertainment center with large-screen TV/VCR, stereo CD, and a
library with ample novels, nature and marine guides, and informative books on
the Bahamas. A bar stocked with liquor, beer, and sodas is adjacent, as is a
buffet used for serving breakfast and lunch.
