Comments:
Hal Moon is a lovely property, with a grand entrance and a beautiful setting. our Royal One Bedroom Suite was very nice, well appointed, clean, and had an amazing view of the ocean. Beautiful resort, beautiful room, helpful beach attendants. The food at Seagrape Terrace was very god for lunch and dinner. Nice, open-air setting. Il Giardino, the Italian restaurant right next to Seagrape, was very good. Our favorite was The Sugar Mill Restaurant. The food is very good, but the prices are hard to justify--very expensive for very good, but not great, food. The service is somewhat inconsistent. For the most part, they try to be efficient, but could use some more training. But they do try! We used the tennis courts every day. They need to resurface the courts, and getting towels and cold water was a challenge, but eventually attainable. They had lessons going on all the time, which became annoying while we were trying to play games. The beach was nice, and they have paddle boats, kayaks, etc., for your use. We took out a catamaran a couple of times (extra charge) which was a lot of fun. The beach attendants are very nice and help to get you set up with towels and chairs. Fantastic lap pool. We didn't play golf, but heard how beautiful the courses were from other guests. Also, didn't have an opportunity to use the spa, but it looked nice. It's a quick ride (15-20 minutes) to the airport. They have a little work to do to make it a 5-staf hotel, bu they have a nice property. There was not an upgrade possible when we visited, although it showed availability online. We also ran into a snag with our Hideaways member perk (airport transfers).

Comments:
We had a great vacation. Myself, my 83-year-old mother and three teenagers (18, 16, & 14). We all had plenty to do and we were able to do what we wanted all inside the resort.

Comments:
One of the best family vacations ever! The Dolphin Lagoon was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The "boys" enjoyed a day of golf and personal caddy; the "girls" loved the spa. As Hideaways members, they upgraded us to a two-bedroom, two-bath cottage suite with a private pool. It was incredible!

Comments:
Though it was off-season and limited restaurants and services were available, what was available to us was superb in all aspects. We booked on short notice, and our agent got us a great place at a decent price. When we plan our next trip, we will contact Hideaways first.

Comments:
The resort was a little shabby, but comfortable and clean - initial cleaning service was very slow due to high occupancy, but management quickly responded to complaints. Service people were very pleasant.

Comments:
Half Moon is a beautiful resort in a lovely setting. Accommodations range from hotel rooms to whole "cottages," which are more like houses. Our "villa" which indeed resembled a villa, had two stories, a huge bedroom, a large living room, 2 bathrooms, a tiny kitchen, and a lovely patio. The "royal suites" are quite spectacular with their own provate pool. The whole compound has over 300 employees, and is very well maintained. In the villas, your "maid" will cook meals for you if you so desire. There is a commissary with reasonable prices for villa food purchases. We found employees to ber very friendly and eager to please. The clientele appeared to be mostly couples and business types, with a smattering of families. Half Moon does not promote istself as a family resort, although our kids had a great time. I'd return to Half Moon. It's not however, where one would go for privacy or seclusion. My only complaint is that I had wanted an "all-inclusive" package, and was told there was no such thing.

Comments:
We had a marvelous time! Our Royal Suite turned out to be a single, unattached house, with a front ocean view, and a large pool in the back. We played golf in the 95 degree weather. The food was delicious. We highly reccomend the Platinum Plan. Our only complaint is that management pushed a Chinese restaurant in town with a shuttle both ways. It was a wasteful evening, and we have notified them of our feelings.

We've traveled to many resorts on many islands in the Caribbean. Half Moon is undoubtedly the best value we have found. A truly beautiful resort.

Comments:
We spent our honeymoon at Half Moon and had a wonderful time. The highlights our vacation include golfing, horseback riding, and a day trip to Dunns River Fall. The staff at Half Moon are friendly and very accommodating. We can't wait to go back!

Comments:
We had a comedy of "errors" vacation. The property seems to be off kilter due to the fire and relocation of offices and restaurants, but some of our problems couldn't be contributed to that (i.e. lack of response to maintanance problems, broken air conditioners, room service trays and trash left for days etc.). After a week of phone calls, the general manager did meet with us and provide some compensation, but we would be reluctant to return.

Comments:
My husband and I had a terrific time at Half Moon as did our 4 year old daughter and 1 year old son. They especially enjoyed the Children's Center and of course the beach. The staff was very helpful and friendly. We had a babysitter everyday while our son napped and in the evening so my husband and I could have dinner alone. Our daughter also enjoyed art classes every afternoon at the beach. We stayed in a two bedroom villa, which was very comfortable and nicely decorated. We enjoyed riding bikes around the resort to get from our villa to the beach. The only negative aspect we found was the food and variety of restaurants. We did enjoy Sugar Mill (four times), but were disappointed with the other restaurant. Overall, great time and we will go back again.
