Comments:
Worth the potentially white-knuckled small flight there...landed amongst the cows...in a charmingly simple airport...to amazing hospitality...teens could use some organization/availability of activity...like teen get togethers maybe...or teen canopy tours (so they each know the other will be there!) I know it is a honeymoon spot...but we loved it too. (Traveled with 16, 17 yr old...surfing was tough...but fun...pizza at restaurant by the beach hit the spot...massage on the beach was outstanding.) Definitely go for the plunge pool you'll use it...gorgeous and isolated setting. Would go again in a heartbeat.

Comments:
Loved our casita upgrade with small pool + resident iguanas + birds. Room was very attractive w/local furnishings + pretty blue tiled high tub/shower. Had outside covered patio, hammock + table + chairs. Candles both inside + out - replaced when we had used them up. Staff very wonderful, especially helpful + kind after I hurt my leg (broke). Manager brought the physical therapist from spa to check my leg first thing in morning. Even the chef came to see me. Maids brought extra water + ice for my ankle/leg. Fortunately only lost 2 days + a trip to the village with a staff member who was excited to show it off - the Village of Islita is an open-air museum.

Comments:
This visit was definitely the highlight of our trip. It was so beautiful and we were so well taken care of, it was hard to leave. The staff was extremely friendly, and we knew many of them by name by the end of our stay. The casita was wonderful. We loved having our own yard, with an incredible view, and our own pool. The grounds are beautiful. The food is great. We would highly recommend Punta Islita.

Restaurant (upstairs) uses Peidel wine glasses! Some minor language misunderstandings. Kudos for a staff member: Every one of them

Comments:
Very peaceful, romantic, private with wonderful ambience. We had 1/2 of a duplex with private jacuzzi® about 50 yards east of the main building. Highlights: great massages, lineless tans, huge pieces of sashimi-quality tuna served as "steaks". The romantic dinner: limited to 3 tables, at the edge of the beach with waves lapping nearby, a private bonfire, great broiled lobster and oven-fresh brownies for desert.

Caveat. We and couples like ourselves who came to relax and enjoy each other's company were in Heaven. Those who, by contrast, were expecting to be entertained with endless activities were less satisfied.

Comments:
The setting for Punta Islita is magnificent - high up the side of a hill facing the ocean and other forested hills surrounding it. It is isolated and not east to get to except by plane - they provide a beautiful new white 4-seater which is only about a 30-min flight from San Jose and the best option for getting there - enjoyable in itself. It lands on a single deserted airstrip and a friendly member of the hotel staff whisks you away in a small van to the hotel where you are greeted by more expert, friendly staff with a welcoming tropical drink. All the staff soon know you by your first names. The whole hotel is very small and well managed. The level of service everywhere is outstanding. We had chosen the casita with the plunge pool, as recommended by Jude at Hideaways, and were very happy we did, though all the rooms we saw were very nice but smaller. During our 6 days there we were busy each morning with a variety of activities. Our favorites were the 2 1/2 hour sunset horseback ride along the beach and up
