Member Services

Q. How do I log into the Hideaways website, and what access does that grant me as a member?
A. To log into www.hideaways.com and have all the access your membership entitles you to, click on "Login/Account" in the top right-hand corner of the home page, then enter your information there. If you should forget any portion of your log in, use the "Forgot username or password?" service, found off of the site login link, which will automatically send you a reminder for your username or password to the email address you have on file.

Q. How do I contact Hideaways with a question?
A. Hideaways' member services associates and travel specialists are here to help you. Our regular hours of operation are 9:00 am until 5:30 pm EST, Monday through Friday. You may reach us by calling 800-843-4433 or emailing us at ms@hideaways.com, or starting an instant messaging chat, by clicking on the Live Chat button on www.hideaways.com.

Q. How do I find member reviews on particular properties? How do I supply my own?
A. After using the search tool on the home page to select a hotel, resort, cruise or villa, scroll through the selection to find properties or cruises that have been rated by members. A rating system beneath each profile's photograph indicates there is a review presented for that property. If there is only a link that says "Rate this property," it means there are currently no reviews available for that property.

To add a review you must be logged in as a member, go to the property's profile screen on the website and then, on the main profile page, click on the button that says "Rate this hideaway." You can also go to the top menu option "Interact" and choose "Rate a Hotel/Cruise."

Q. How do I renew my membership online/change the credit card number on file/update my information/change my username and password?
A. Go to "My Account Info" in the top menu on your member home page (you must be logged in). You will find links to direct you to the appropriate pages, including "My Account Information," "Manage Subscriptions," "Renew," and more. Using these links ensures you will receive the benefits and discounts reserved for Hideways members.

Q. How do I access my member benefits such as free cell phone rental, luggage shipping product discounts, etc?
A. After logging in, select "Resource and Planning", then select "Savings with Travel Partners".

Q: Is there a way I can give a membership to friends and family who enjoy traveling?
A. Absolutely, a Hideaways gift membership is the perfect gift for friends and family who enjoy fine travel. Gift memberships are $195 for the year, and can be purchased online (www.hideaways.com/giftmembership) or over the phone - 800-843-4433.

Q: How do I research articles on destinations I'm considering?
A. One of the benefits Hideaways Members receive is complete access to full-length travel articles on Hideaways.com. To access these, please go to "Lodgings and Destination Reports" under "Explore" in the main navigation and enter your terms to search. Q. How do I search for hotels and resorts in a particular location?
A. Under "Explore" choose either "Search Recommended Lodgings" or "Search Recommended Cruises & Tours."

Q. I'm going to ____ and it doesn't look like you have a hotel there. Can you still help me?
A. Absolutely. If you're a Hideaways Aficionado® Club Elite member, access to our personable Travel Specialists is yours complimentary. They can help you find the perfect accommodations no matter where your destination and the nature of your stay. You'll enjoy the benefits of our Travel Specialists' extensive knowledge, up-to-the-minute best rates, and the option of including insurance, cell phone, and other services that are available through our travel partners to make your travels trouble-free.

Q. I have a really detailed trip coming up. Can you help?
A. Absolutely! Customized vacation planning is our specialty. Elite members receive the free benefit of working with our expert agents in the Travel Services department, while standard members may obtain these services for a small fee. Email or call us at 800-843-4433, and you will be assigned your own Hideaways Travel Specialist who will attend to your trip.

Q. Should I book my day trips, golf tee times, shore excursions, etc. when I get there?
A. If it's something your trip just won't be complete without, book it ahead of time and let your Hideaways Travel Specialist make all the necessary arrangements for you.

Q. How much of a discount do I receive at properties in The Hideaways Collection?
A. We have negotiated special rates with our THC partners, usually 10 % off for most bookings or the lowest available rate offered by the hotel. In addition, we've arranged exclusive perks, complimentary room upgrades, and late check-out (when available) with our partner properties in The Hideaways Collection.

Q. I found a cheaper rate on another site. Can you match it?
A. If it is a property or cruise in The Hideaways Collection and the rate is being offered directly by the property or cruise yes!

Q. Do you offer group discounts?
A. Group terms vary by hotel, resort, and/or cruise. Our Travel Specialists are experienced in group negotiation and organization. Receive special perks and amenities like free cabin berths, room upgrades, and complimentary shore excursions when you book your group with Hideaways. And as a special thank you, if your trip qualifies, group leaders receive a one-year complimentary Hideaways Aficionado Club membership.

Q. Do you offer discounts on airfare?
A. Through special partnerships, we can offer discounted rates for business and first-class passengers originating in the U.S. Note that discounted airfare often needs to be combined with a hotel or car rental. We can also arrange for private jet charters to fit your needs.

Q. Do you charge service fees?
A. Yes, we charge a nominal fee for various transactions. You can view our service fee menu here. Elite members benefit from a reduced service fee for transactions.

Q. Do you offer travel insurance?
A. Hideaways recommends that you purchase a travel protection plan to help protect you and your travel investment against the unexpected. For your convenience we offer plans through Travelex. Q. I saw this home on another private home/villa competitor's site; can I book it through Hideaways?
A. Hideaways Travel Services offers villas through trusted property management firms. We can check to see if one of those firms works with that property. Otherwise, we suggest choosing a vacation home from our private home listings and contacting the owner directly, saving both time and money.

Q. How do I go about finding the contact information for a private home?
A. Within each of the listings for private homes, there are two buttons in the top right-hand corner to choose from; "Book It" or "Get Info." Remember, you must be logged onto the site first, then simply click on either of those buttons, answer a few simple questions, and you will be provided with the contact information both on the screen and in an email sent to your account for your records. You also may call Hideaways International for any contact information Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. ET.

Q. How does dealing with a private homeowner work?
A. Hideaways International has been in the vacation business for 35 years, with our roots in villa rentals. We have accumulated a wealth of knowledge about villa/vacation home rentals, and we've established a very loyal group of homeowners who value our members as guests.

A full inventory of privately listed vacation homes and villas is online on our website at www.Hideaways.com. You can search by location or property type to find what you're looking for. Once you have found the property or properties that suit your needs and taste, you can request contact information for the property. You must be logged onto the site to do this, because not only are you given the property owners' information, but they are simultaneously sent yours as well so both parties can be in touch.

All reservations and bookings take place directly with the property owner. This way you're renting from those who know the property the best, the owners themselves. They'll be able to answer any and all questions you have.

While we have a vast array of private homes to choose from, we also have relationships with many property management firms which offer hundreds more listings. If you don't see what you're looking for in an online private listing, please contact our Travel Services department at 800-843-4433 and we'll check further within our villa and vacation home inventory for just the right home.

Q. Do I need a passport to go to ____?
A. The best place to find out if you need a passport or special entry visa is http://travel.state.gov/.

Advertising Your Vacation Home or Villa with Hideaways

Q. How comprehensive will my property listing be?
A. A listing on www.Hideaways.com includes ten photos, a detailed description of your home, an extensive list of features and amenities, an availability calendar, member ratings, and the ability to post specials.

Q. How do I create a listing?
A. It's very easy. Once you have registered on www.Hideaways.com, just click the "Advertise" link and follow the step-by-step instructions. Upon completing the form, your property will be added to the Web site. Visit www.hideaways.com/advertise. It takes you through the procedure from start to finish.

Q. What are the photo requirements and how do I submit them?
A. All photos need to be at least 72 dpi and 500 pixels in width or height. You need a minimum of four photos and a maximum of ten.

Q. Can I promote specials for my listing?
A. Yes, your listing includes a separate page for posting specials, which allows you to feature seasonal pricing, packages, or any add-ons that you may want to promote.

Q. Can I include a link to my website?
A. Since we offer a membership-based website community, we currently do not offer this service to link out to other sites. But with your detailed listing on www.Hideaways.com, renters are easily able to find getaways that meet their needs.

Q. How can I make my property really stand out?
A. Be as descriptive and accurate as possible when filling out the listing form. Include the maximum number of photos and highlight all the unique features of your home. You can also post a rate special which will place your property on a specials landing page.

Q. How do I make changes to my ad? A. Using your log-in at www.hideaways.com/advertise, you can easily access your account, update information, access information requests and reporting, or upgrade your ad.
