They even upgraded us to an oceanfront room at no cost, thanks to Hideaways. Our only complaint - the bed and pillows were not very comfortable. (Hideaways Travel Consultant) Katia planned everything. She presented many options to us, was creative in finding ways to accommodate us, and planned a wonderful trip. We don't know where we'll go next, but we hope it's as wonderful as The Buccaneer!The quality of Hideaways' description of the property is: Accurate VANARTSDALEN JR, WILLIAM H4.0 Guest Rating- Stayed at this property between December 11, 2006 and December 17, 2006- Rating added December 18, 2006Comments:The Resort is beautiful and in a great setting. This is not a five star resort. I would give it three. We stayed in the Mermaid on the Beach which have a beautiful view but the rooms are dark and need upgrading. Our biggest complaint is the shower. The plumbing is ancient and you could not control the hot and cold water. We had a week of uncomfortable showers. Not what we expected for the rate. the owners need a plan to update. The resort is getting tired. The view is breathtaking and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. They have everything you need there...beaches, golf, tennis, spa, etc. A wonderful breakfast is served every morning and was included with the stay. It was a great way to start the day.
