Comments:
1. Part of property is time share
2. Restaurant is EXCELLENT - we ate at a number of other places on the island, but found ourselves returning to Rico's (at Banyan Bay) for food quality, service & on the water location
3. It apparently is not unusual for water outages on the island - locals told us "usually after 10 pm," but we experienced short periods at any time of the day - only a minor inconvenience though - didn't last long - never more than 1/2 hour - for us - but locals did say that sometimes it gets shut off all night. We also did have power outages - again, apparently not unusual in Belize. No flashlights or candles at Banyan Bay.
Nonetheless. I LOVED THIS PLACE!

Comments:
Banyan Bay is the premier spot to stay in Ambergis Caye. The staff is excellent; the on-site restaurant, Rico's Bar & Grill, is fabulous. Wonderful food, enticing views, intoxicating drinks. Beautiful, friendly people! Our Hideaways Travel Services consultant, Jude, was most helpful when we had to postpone our trip due to illness. She was always prompt, professional, and courteous.

Comments:
Cave tubing on the mainland was a kick! Driving golf carts on Ambergris Caye was a blast, too. Very friendly people everywhere, lots of good places to eat (i.e. Elvi's Kitchen, Mata Chica's Restaurant, Fido's, and Sweet Basil Cafe). No restaurant at the Villas was a drawback.
