Comments:
The only reason for the '3' rating on appearance was because there had recently been a hurricane. Carimar is a truly wonderful place to stay if you don't need to be pampered.

Comments:
There's a great new restaurant in Crocus Bay - da 'Vida (formerly Roy's). It's been totally redone as a combination tapas bar/lounge and high-end dining restaurant (check out www.davidaanguilla.com). Its beautiful location on the beach (with views of the beach and water) has been enhanced by aggressive pruning of trees, which used to hide it from the water. It's at least on par with Blanchards and Koal Keel for quality and ambiance.

As always, this is our favorite place on the planet. We have been going here for 12 years. Everyone we meet at Carimar has also been many times before. It is the best! Great location, great beach, great people, and wonderful dining.

Clean, well located, well appointed 1/2/4 bedroom villas with unbelievable beach. Beautiful sunsets and access to some of the best dining in Anguilla. Luxury Hotel next door for Spa at half the price. Accomodations are well appointed. If you need air-conditioning ot TV you need to request it but I wouldn't bother during season

This was our 9th visit to Carimar. 21 Days of perfect weather. Carimar was in excellent condition. Gardens were well-maintained. Many new furnishings in units. High state of cleanliness. Staff includes many long-service employees, who are excellent. Office staff is terrific. Very good value at this time of year. Getting to Anguilla was painful. Airport runway extension still under construction. No ferries between 7:00 PM + 10:00 PM. Great vacation!

This was our ninth return trip to the Carimar Beach Club. Anguilla was better than ever, and Carimar's location on Mead's Bay is superb. Carimar has made significant enhancements to its property, e.g., new walkways, new mattresses, etc. Carimar remains a superb value on an expensive island.

Wonderful. The blender in the kitchen did not work and when management was phoned, they replaced it in 10 mintues! Very well maintained; we'd go back.

I think this trip was our 7th or 8th to Carimar. It is always a wonderful experience. Carimar staff are terrific. Anguilla restaurants are top-notch albeit experience.

Comments:
Free car, free masseuse! Great! Second story is much better than first. Comfortable accommodations with ample room and reasonable furniture. Super sand. Walk to several restaurants, none at Carimar. Nightlife is what you make it. A car is needed at least some of the time. Bring two wallets for dinner out.

Needs a T.V. for later evening info. No Privacy - you can see into nearly all the units and they into yours. They NEED a restaurant and/or bar on property.

The property and beach are gorgeous. The food is excellent but very expensive. Also poorly directed by road signs, kind of hard to find. If someone is looking for pure relaxation this is the place - no TV, A/C or radio.

This was our ninth trip to Anguilla and the fourth to Carimar. It is a great place and the staff at Carimar couldn't be more helpful and friendly. Our favorite restaurants are Oliver's, Ray's, and Blanchards. We're looking forward to our return to "heaven."

We first heard of Carimar through an article in Hideaways newsletter and it is a lovely beach club and certainly met our expectations. Beautiful beaches! Pam Berry (the manager) was very pleasant and extremely helpful. She told us where to snorkel and arranged for us to fly to St. Barts for a day trip. We really enjoyed the Island and though all the people were most friendly. We are serious snorkellers and chose our vacations spots with an expectation of excellent snorkelling. In all honesty Anguilla doesn't fall into this category. Many of the reefs were covered in algae and basically fished out. What Anguilla needs is some marine parks if they want diving ans snorkelling toursists.

Comments:
The furnishings were fine; the pots and pans and other cooking utensils weren't the best. The kitchen was a little dirty and there were quite a few bugs around. The car we requested was not waiting for us when we arrived, which was ROMCAN car rentals fault. However, the staff at Carimar quickly arranged for another rental car agency to supply us with another car.

From the invited contact at Hideaways to the flight home, our vacation was perfect. Hideaways is probably the best travel agency with which we have ever dealt. After many years of travel throughout the Caribbean, Carimar Beach Club turned out to be the ideal spot for two "Beach Bums" to relax and unwind. Pam and her staff have created an ambaince that fit our needs perfectly.

Comments:
Carimar Beach Club was very pleasant with nice grounds, good tennis court and a wonderful beach. The snorkeling was a dissapointment however, we found a secluded beach at one end of the Island called Captains Cove which had some interesting under water sea life. We were not able to stay on the second floor as requested because of some leaking roof problems due to rain, but the first floor was very convenient.

Comments:
Location is spectacular. Beach is one mile long and perfect. Accommodations were spiffy clean and daily maid service was of very high quality. Pam Berry, the manager, is a gem and maintains high standards. Perfect weather every day. Excellent restaurants on the island, especially Koal Kul (an elegant surprise) and Hibernis. Road construction on Anguilla a minor nuissance.

The setting and location were superb! Three stars for the Carimar Beach Club. We were only there for five days this year but are looking forward to going for two full weeks next year! The staff was wonderful, warm, and very accomodating. we has a very cordial reception by the General Manager who introduced us to the staff and escorted us to our apartment. This was the most relaxing week we've spent in years. The view, the sea, the quietness were all made ot order. If all the Hideaways properties are of this quality, we won't shop with anyone else!

Comments:
As predicted, the Carimar Beach Club proved a great choice. The brochures don't do justice to its luch landscaping. While Carimar shares Mead's Beach Bay with the five-star hotel Malliouhana, the Carimar has the better portion and affords direct access to the beach without having to climb stairs. There is no phone or television in you room, but who cares? The friendly desk clerks will make your dinner reservations for you. But don't worry, there's a lounge with cable television for people who need their tube-fix. Blanchard's is a fantastic restaurant and is located right next door. The Carimar is the only Caribbean resort that has twice as many beach chairs and sun umbrellas as it has guests so there is no competition for them. For a change of pace, we caught the motorboat ferry over to St. Martin/St. Maarten, and took a taxi tour of the island. Its over-construction, traffic jams, and other congestion, made sleepy Anguilla seem like paradise. The chief drawback to Anguilla is the high cost of food.

The Carimar was terrific! It was beautiful and the staff was very helpful. We couldn't ask for a better vacation. The friendly people of Anguilla helped make a great vacation even better. Thanks to Hideaways, the vacation was perfect.

This was our third trip to Anguilla. We love the island and the people, not to mention the fabulous beaches. We've previously rented a villa. The accommodations at Carimar and Mead's Bay are the best so far. Excellent location.

Comments:
Anguilla is a rather homely, unkempt island with practically no shopping or nightlife. What it does offer are exceptional beaches, first class resorts, outstanding restaurants and an extremely friendly, gracious population. The atmosphere at Carimar is totally relaxed and after a week there, so were we. Perfect!

Carimar was all around excellent. Meads Bay location made everything just perfect. Very quiet and not crowded except for "Boat Racing Holiday", even that was great, with good food and the friendly Anguillans.

Our vacation was fantastic until Hurricane Jenny arrived on the scene. Fortunately, they moved us back from the beach and took good care of us. We couldn't have asked for more. The only trouble was that Hurricane Jenny stayed for three days right over us, so there was no water or electricity. I can't say enough about Carimar. We hope to return soon!

Comments:
Caramar Beach Club is one of the few off-season bargains in the Caribbean. Meads Bay was gorgeous as usual. Carimar was fully recovered from hurricane damage and was better than ever. Anguilla restaurants are superb but expensive. Carimar is a great value!
