Sometimes, you serendipitously discover a spot so magnificent, you feel compelled to share it with others. That's exactly what motivated Helen and Theo Gobat to commission their architecturally intriguing, Spanish-hacienda-style boutique hotel on perhaps the most stunning stretch of St. Lucian beachfront. From its elevated position on the northernwestern point of this lush island in the West Indies, Cap Maison offers that rare combination of heavenly peace and seclusion in close proximity to the bustle of nearby Rodney Bay, with its golf club, restaurants, and nightlife.
As a luxurious villa resort, Cap Maison is perfect for family-or-friend getaways that require plenty of elbow room and lots of on-site activities. Each spacious Oceanview Villa Suite is a lovely study in whitewashed walls, dark woods, rich fabrics, and hand-painted tiles, and offers a full kitchen, a generous terrace or veranda, handmade furnishings from Mexico, a Bose® sound system, and extravagant touches like private pools and Jacuzzis®. Guest rooms and Junior Suites also are well appointed, with shady balconies and terraces that catch the afternoon breeze. During the day, you can swim at the private beach or pool, indulge in a decadent spa treatment (try the Velvet Skin Miracle), charter the resort's own private motor launch, even have a bottle of bubbly delivered from the elevated bar to the seaside terrace—known as "Rock Maison"—by the resort's own specially designed "Champagne Zipline.?"
