Thankfully, it's been a long time since spas were referred to as "fat farms" and "sanitariums." Today, the language used to describe them is much more enticing, and so are the spas themselves. These oases of pure pampering deliver tranquility, cleansing, and general well-being in an atmosphere of such high style that sometimes it smacks of one-upmanship.

And no longer are they solely the domain of women--these days, spas are designed to attract men, teens, even children with their tantalizing treatments.
From cruise ships to airport hotels--even train stations!--you don't have to look far to find some exquisite spa sanctuary. It seems 21st-century spas are the answer to that 21st-century, self-indulgent attitude of "How can I treat myself better?" So go ahead and hit the spa--you deserve it!
