"Love is in the air," to quote a sweet little pop song from the '70s. But somehow, love just seems a little more exciting when it's in the air at a lush beach resort, a Southern plantation dripping with Spanish moss, or a Tuscan villa with far-as-the-eye-can-see views -- in other words, pretty much anywhere other than your usual digs.

Maybe that's why destination weddings have become practically de rigueur for those who love to travel. What other occasion is more perfectly suited to exploring some exotic locale (after all, you're going on a honeymoon anyway) while inviting along some of your closest friends and family for the party of a lifetime? And who wouldn't love to be invited to a soirée that involves new scenery, an interesting (and different) culture, and the excuse to jet away for a few days?
