Sport fishing in Mexico is world-class and has
drawn international attention, largely because of
the amazing abundance of different species of fish.
Deep-Sea Fishing
You can deep-sea fish in Mexico year-round. The Pacific Coast
and the Sea of Cortes have more than 600 recognized species,
including yellowtail, grouper, barracuda, giant sea
bass, blue marlin, black marlin, yellow-fin tuna,
mahi-mahi, sailfish, and swordfish.
Vacation spots such as Acapulco, Puerto
Vallarta, Manzanillo, Loreto, La Paz, Cancun,
Cozumel, and Los Cabos are good for deep-sea
fishing. Many have improved their facilities in recent
years, and reliable charter boats are available with expert
crews who know where the fish are biting.
