Hideaways' Review |
The beautiful village of Megalochori makes a welcome and peaceful alternative to the busy tourist attractions of Fira, Oia and the jostling of the summer crowds.
Protected from the strong Cycladic winds, the traffic free winding lanes lead directly to the village square with its pretty churches and picturesque Venetian bell towers.
Afroditi House is a real architecture treasure,
situated on the central square of the village, hidden inside a huge courtyard with colorful flowers and other plant species of Cyclades.
The name is derived from the goddess Afroditi the goddess of beauty and matches with the simplicity and beauty of this lovely house. The enclosed cobbled courtyard has a private heated Jacuzzi pool placed behind the flowerbeds and plants.
This traditional house "canava' has one open-plan room which serves as a sitting room and bedroom.
The spacious and stylish bathroom boasts with hand-crafted brass fittings and has a stone banquette and large shower.
There is a separate WC attached.
Afroditi House is perfect for a couple that is looking for a small, traditional and uniquely Santorinian home on the island. |
