Long a bastion of beach-chic beauty and non-stop nightlife among the jet-setting elite, Puerto Vallarta recently has experienced an upswing in popularity with other strata of society: golfers (last count, there were seven championship courses here), families, conventioneers, and those simply wanting to unwind. And while P.V. is catching fire as the place to golf, soak up the sun, and see and be seen, the all-inclusive Velas Vallarta Suite Resort, with its sunny spot on Banderas Bay, is emerging as the place to be in the thick of things—or not, whichever you prefer.
Wrapping horseshoe-like around a veritable jungle of towering palms, free-form pools, and cascading waterfalls, this all-inclusive resort makes a special effort to provide as much or as little distraction as you like. You'll find quiet garden corners for two, or a beachful of active water sports for you and the kids. Velas Vallarta's suites are equally accommodating.
